What to expect from Complexity v. MOUZ
After their opening loss to an M80 roster that continues to impress at ESL Pro League Season 20, Complexity defeated Astralis 2-0 to avoid being sent down to the lower bracket. The team needed overtime on both Vertigo and Inferno to beat the Danes though, but showed far more life in their second series, setting them up for a showdown with a vulnerable MOUZ where a win would keep them on the path towards playoffs.
The big names stepped up
Both Jonathan "EliGE' Jablonowski" and Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli were quiet in the match versus M80, and we noted in our Astralis match preview that both players would need to step up. Both of them did just that, combining for 110 kills between the two of them, and averaging a 1.32 HLTV rating. MOUZ should present a tougher challenge than an Astralis team still figuring things out, but big performances from EliGE and hallzerk could spur an upset.

MOUZ look shaky but still dangerous
MOUZ entered ESL Pro League Season 20 as a top five ranked team, but they haven't looked the part early on. They struggled against Oceanic team Rooster, losing 13-8 on Mirage, letting Rooster force overtime by losing 9 straight CT rounds on Vertigo, and nearly losing in OT. They survived Vertigo and the series versus Rooster, but couldn't close in overtime versus Imperial on either Dust2 or Inferno, looking nothing like the razor sharp roster that won last season.

So far this has been Brollan's poorest event performance since joining MOUZ

xertioN has been great, but it's not been enough

Have still shown the ability to win unlikely rounds
Previous Matchups
These two teams have played four series this year, with MOUZ winning all four series, and going 8-2 in maps played. Complexity's two map wins both occurred on Vertigo.
Likely Vetoes
-
Complexity ban Mirage (Permaban)
-
MOUZ ban Anubis (Permaban)
-
Complexity pick Vertigo (one of their best maps, and the only map where they've beaten MOUZ)
-
MOUZ pick Inferno (just lost to Imperial in OT, but could chalk that up to poor individual showing)
-
Complexity ban Nuke
-
MOUZ ban Ancient
-
Decider is Dust2
If MOUZ breaks free of this slump, it's going to be an uphill battle for Complexity. Alternatively, MOUZ might consider banning Vertigo, but that would make one of Complexity's favorite maps in Anubis available. Regardless of which map it is, Complexity have to win their choice for them to have a real shot at knocking off MOUZ, as their opponents' poor form won't last forever.
