Time for Twistzz to prove he is one of the best emerging IGLs

What to expect from Liquid v. FaZe

Time for revenge.

Liquid can do the funniest thing ever and that's take their completely unknown, unheard of AWPer and have him carry their North American hopes and dreams to the top of IEM Cologne 2024 with a win over FaZe. The European squad took the first victory against them earlier this week, initially forcing Liquid into the loser's bracket. Now Liquid has the chance for revenge to send FaZe all the way back home.

Liquid's ultimate weapon

This kid is basically a cheat code. He has the ego of a Tier 1 player that can absolutely back it up. He's taking fights he shouldn't, dueling against the biggest players in the game, and still coming out on top. Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak is the secret to Liquid's success and with Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken giving him the freedom to operate, it's amazing to see how Liquid are already this successful.

  • jks, despite not playing for so long, has shown he hasn't missed a step

  • Twistzz and NAF remain key pieces of this lineup

  • YEKINDAR is playing his role perfectly

Finally FaZe

These guys always feel like one of the final bosses of professional Counter-Strike. While they haven't exactly lit the world on fire in the immediate aftermath of the summer break, make no mistake that this team is one of the best. They've already beaten Liquid and will likely do so again unless the North American squad have figured out their errors from the last match.

  • karrigan literally taught Twistzz everything he knows

  • rain loves Cologne, he'll want to be there once more

  • broky is just waiting for his breakout game

Previous Matchups

These two sides are no strangers. As we said before, FaZe were the ones to send Liquid down to the loser's bracket, but today the two will have to battle it out for that spot in Cologne.

Likely Vetoes

Liquid would do good to potentially throw Vertigo out there as an option for FaZe. The Europeans have flirted with their seven map pool, but it's possible that FaZe shy away as they look to play to their strengths.

  • Liquid bans Nuke

  • FaZe bans Vertigo

  • Liquid picks Dust2

  • FaZe picks Ancient

  • Decider is Anubis

The match will begin later today as one of the last series of the day.
