Dust2 update brings massive boost to CT-side
I has been nearly three months since Dust2 was returned to the Active Duty map pool while Overpass was withdrawn. Many teams are still adapting to the new map, but Valve has decided to make one of the largest changes to the CT-side in an update last night.
Towards the CT-spawn point, the designers have heightened the boxes towards Catwalk's elbow, making it so that a single player is able to jump up from CT-spawn onto the A-site. Previously, teams needed two players to boost up onto that point.
This is a significant update to the map as CT-sided players are now able to quickly move onto Catwalk and take more control of Dust2's middle all without sacrificing the position timing of another defensive player.
Additionally, this also allows T-players an additional route onto the A-site as they could walk through spawn and silently make their way onto the site without being forced to walk into Long or through Catwalk from Middle.
While some players have joked that they no longer need to blame a teammate for missing the jump, Analyst Chad "SPUNJ" Burchill has noted that this will likely change some of the late-round gameplay.
The update is will likely be first seen in major competitive play when the BLAST Premier Fall Groups begin later next week.
