Champions for now

What to expect from Complexity v. Virtus.pro

It's time to get back to business.

Complexity are jumping right back into the swing of things this summer as they take on Virtus.pro to open up the Esports World Cup. It's going to be a grueling match for the Americans as they take on one of the better European squads. The competition itself is equally as grueling, with the lower bracket only allowing for one single entrant to make it to a playoff spot.

Consistent Complexity

Well, they finally won a tournament and that was a much needed win after so many close calls over the last year. With the organization and lineup going into Year Two with Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski as their star, the Esports World Cup will be a good event the for the Americans to get back into the swing of things before it really heats up with BLAST, the various IEM events, and eventually, the Major.

  • No roster changes means no more adjustment period

  • Complexity broke the duck and got an event win, can they snowball that momentum?

  • floppy and Grim need to kick in another gear to send Complexity to the top

Virtus.back in action

The Russian squad have continued to be one of the teams in the world and are all that much more intimidating coming out of the player break as they also did not have any roster changes to speak of. The team has spent the last month relaxing, resting, and preparing to crush their opposition in any way they can.

  • electronic v. EliGE is a battle to watch

  • Will VP allow Vertigo to go through?

  • JAME cannot be allowed to save every single time

Previous Matchups

These two lineups have played twice before, surprisingly. The last time was when Complexity embarrassed the Russians at ESL Pro League Season 19 with a quick 2-0 on Ancient and Vertigo. Before that, it was a back-and-forth contest in CS:GO with VP ultimately coming out on top.

Likely Vetoes

Vertigo should surely go through, but how will Complexity make sure they can survive this fight?

  • Complexity ban Mirage

  • VP ban Nuke

  • Complexity pick Vertigo

  • VP pick Dust2

  • Decider will be Anubis

Complexity and VP will playing their BO3 tomorrow at 02:00PM.

I expect coL to win, regardless of how much VP over invested in Electronic and people downplay Floppy or JT...Complexity should be able to handle Virtus Pro 8/10 times. I used to be a huge VP supporter but it’s tiring seeing the same scenarios over and over and Complexity is a better team who’s also underrated

Complexity have a great IGL and can play comprehensive CS they’ve elevated their gameplay to only losing vs The events eventual winning teams such as Vitality or MOUZ FaZe

ELIGE and HallZerk are better than FL1T and Overrated Jame and Grim JT Floppy can mop up the rest. They’ve ended the break strong it’s time step up and win tournaments like EWC
