Mythic & Elevate stumble, nitr0 wins in NRG debut | ECL S48 Roundup Day 1
It's time to usher in a new season of the North American ESL Challenger League! There have been a lot of changes in the league with NRG bringing in Nick "nitr0" Cannella as their new leader, BOSS restructuring, and moves here and there. Last night kicked off with four league matches as Nouns, LAG, Limitless, and others got into the mix.
NRG 2-0 Limitless
It was a triumphant shellacking for NRG as they opened up their season of ESL Challenger League with a dominant display over Limitless. It was a quick 2-0 for nitr0 and his new teammates as they breezed through Limitless 13-5 on Anubis and then 13-3 on Inferno. nitr0 looked like he never left the server as he put up a 1.67 HLTV Rating, with a 1.64 Impact Rating, in last night's performance.

Nouns 2-0 Take Flyte
Like NRG, Nouns entered last night looking to start their season off with a bang. Against the former One More lineup, Nouns cruised to an easy 2-0 victory across Ancient and Dust2. This was the second time that Nouns had defeated this lineup on Ancient, but did so dominantly last night with a 13-3 scoreline. Dust2 was slightly closer on the scoreboard, but Nouns were firmly in the driver's seat the entire time as they pulled out a 13-9 victory.

Elevate 0-2 LAG
Our first upset of the season goes to LAG as they surprised everyone with a tight, 2-0 victory over Elevate. The ECL badboys were coming off of a win at the Void.gg Invitational over LAG and looked ready to bounce back after a disappointing end to last season in the early summer. The victory from LAG, especially after losing a core player, comes as a surprise and potentially the start to something good for the youngsters.

BOSS 2-0 Mythic
Mythic had a rough start to their ECL season as the revamped BOSS proved to be much more than the stream team could handle. BOSS' newest addition, Keller "SLIGHT" Nilan, had himself a series as he put up 41 kills across the team's 13-9 victory on Ancient and 13-8 win on Nuke. The former Wildcard AWPer is already looking comfortable in his new squad and BOSS are starting off the season on a positive note.
