Tough match and tough luck for the second round

What to expect from Complexity v. MOUZ

The ESL Pro League Season 19 semifinal rematch is an elimination match.

IEM Dallas 2024 couldn't have started worse for Complexity. After a tough loss against Liquid, Complexity will have to face off against the #1 team in the HLTV rankings after MOUZ lost their opening match against 9z 13-9.

Complexity was one of the two teams who took a map from MOUZ during EPL S19 and the Americans will be hoping to take two this time if they want to stay alive in their home event.

It still is complex

It's no secret that this Complexity roster is inconsistent but after an amazing run in Malta, fans were hoping to see the squad start off their campaign in Dallas with a win over a struggling Liquid roster. Unfortunately, adding to that loss, Complexity will have to face the only team that they couldn't defeat in May, other than Liquid. It's do or die, can Complexity overcome the odds?

  • No one had a positive +/- against Liquid

  • JT topped the fragging list with 12

  • Grim couldn't get things going

  • First game jitters?

A wild Rattatta appears!

It would be unfair to say that MOUZ underperformed without mentioning 9z's incredible match, but the European squad looked more like a cute Rattatta on Nuke than the usual NY-sized mouse that terrorizes everything and everyone. The #1 HLTV-rated squad needs to bounce back if they want to stay alive in the competition after just one day of play.

  • Jimpphat already in playoff mode, 8-18 with a 0.68 rating

  • The T-side was nullified by 9z

  • xertioN, Brollan, and torzsi had solid performances

Previous Matchups

Complexity and MOUZ have been seeing a lot of each other in the past months. During March, the two teams faced each other in the PGL Copenhagen Major, with the Europeans taking a calm 2-0 win. Fast forward to May and MOUZ overcame Complexity during the ESL Pro League Season 19 semifinals to then beat Vitality 3-0 in the grand final.

Likely Vetoes

A late BO3 for both MOUZ and Complexity who will rue their losses earlier in the day. For Complexity this is a wake up call, but hey, at least they're warm and ready.

  • Complexity ban Mirage

  • MOUZ ban Anubis

  • Complexity pick Vertigo

  • MOUZ pick Nuke

  • Ancient will be the decider

It's unlikely that Dust2 will come back into the mix here as Complexity might want to stay away from it. Vertigo will definitely make an appearance as well as Nuke.

The game starts later tonight!
