HEROIC's star AWPer to miss IEM Dallas due to visa issues
HLTV have confirmed that HEROIC's recently minted AWPer, Abdul "degster" Gasanov is set to miss IEM Dallas 2024 due to the visa issues. In his place HEROIC are set to field Nico "nicoodoz" Tamjidi as a stand-in, with the Danish AWPer returning to the roster from which he was temporarily benched.
The loss of degster for Dallas will likely be a hard blow for the Norwegian organization, as his addition helped HEROIC to a third-fourth place finish at BetBoom Dacha last week. In the Serbian event, degster was HEROIC's top-rated player, with the Russian boasting a 1.12 rating over ten maps, providing much-needed firepower that was lacking with nicoodoz.
degster is the latest player to struggle with visa issues for IEM Dallas as previous years have seen many players, especially Russians, have to miss out on the event. In 2023, Virtus.pro had to pull out of the event outright while 2022 saw Lotan "Spinx" Giladi, Martin "trace" Heldt, Breno "brnz4n" Poletto, NAVI, and Entropiq all miss the event due to visa issues.
HEROIC will attend IEM Dallas 2024 with:
-
René "TeSeS" Madsen
-
Rasmus "sjuush" Beck
-
Guy "NertZ" Iluz
-
Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski
-
Nico "nicoodoz" Tamjidi (Stand-in)
-
Eetu "sAw" Saha (Coach)
With nicoodoz standing in, HEROIC are set to take on Virtus.pro in their opening match at IEM Dallas 2024 on May 27th at 04:30PM.
