Nouns raise over $10k as NRG take David's Cup crown
David's Cup concluded last night with Nouns helping fundraise $12,770 for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, a non-governmental and non-profit organization that aims to help those suffering from mental health issues. You can donate here.
The event was held in the memory of David "cynic" Polster who tragically passed away at the beginning of the year.
Nouns were able to offer some raffle prizes with signed jerseys from Complexity and M80, and other apparel from Mythic, NRG, BOXR, and Nouns up for grabs. Eric "adreN" Hoag is also giving away one of his jerseys with his signature in a raffle. All that can information can be found here.
The GSL BO1 group stage ended after day one with BOSS, Nouns, Party Astronauts, and Wildcard eliminated. NRG and Mythic both topped their groups, with Take Flyte and Elevate finishing as runners up in Groups A and B, respectively.
Take Flyte had no issue taking down Mythic thanks to a 13-10 victory on Nuke and then a 13-5 domination on Ancient. NRG battled hard against Elevate as they came back from a close loss on Vertigo to then crush their opponents 13-2, 13-5 to secure the comeback victory.
NRG then squared off against Take Flyte in the grand final where Josh "oSee" Ohm had no trouble in dismantling his opponents. NRG would claim a 2-0 victory thanks to a 13-8 win on Dust2 and then a 13-11 comeback on Vertigo.
