Official: paiN secure Brazilian prodigy
paiN have finally confirmed the signing of João "snow" Vinicius from Case. The young 17-year-old player is considered one of the next up and coming players from the Brazilian scene. Signing to paiN will be his first big break on a squad that competes amongst the best internationally.
snow was wanted by a host of teams which included Fluxo, the revitalized KaBuM, and even North America's Wildcard. The organization was pursuing snow following the departure of Gage "Infinite" Green after the PGL Major Copenhagen Americas RMR. Wildcard has had a carousel of players briefly step in, with Ian "motm" Hardy joining the team for IEM Chengdu and Chinese upcomer Qihao "C4LLM3SU3" Su coming in on trial.
While terms of the deal were not publicly disclosed, paiN Academy player Marcelo "nyezin" Ramos will be moving to Case as part of the transaction. He had been playing on paiN's main roster in recent weeks following the transfer debacle surrounding Vinicius "n1ssim" Pereira.
n1ssim had joined paiN on loan from Sharks in the lead up to the 2024 PGL Copenhagen Major cycle. According to terms of the deal, paiN had the opportunity to fully acquire n1ssim for just €20,000 prior to the RMR event. Sharks claim that paiN did not exercise that option and the clause was void. Following the highly successful Major, Sharks set the price for n1ssim at €125,000 which paiN were unwilling to negotiate on.
The roster instability has not impacted paiN's ability to compete at the international level as they won GET Rio 2023 with nyezin last month.
paiN's roster is now:
-
Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt
-
Lucas "lux" Meneghini
-
Kaue "kauez" Kaschuk
-
Lucas "nqz" Soares
-
João Vinícius "snow" Bueno
-
Henrique "rikz" Waku (Coach)
