IMPERIAL BRUSHES VIRTUS.PRO ASIDE TO START ELIMINATION STAGE 1-0
After a 3-2 qualification with a win over GamerLegion, Imperial reached the Elimination Stage with confidence and momentum. Ahead of them, were Virtus.pro, known for a slower playstyle, and considered favorites to advance to the Playoff Stage. The Brazilians have once again shown that they can brawl with the big boys as they have taken down the Russians.
The BO1 was played on Inferno, in a veto that heavily favored Imperial. The T-side didn't start well for Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo and company, as Virtus.pro got off to a 5-2 early lead. After that poor start, Imperial put the pedal to the metal and, on the back of a huge performance from Kaiky "noway" Santos, the Brazilians led 7-5 at the half, before switching to the CT-side.
On the CT-side, Imperial continued demolishing the Russians, opening the half with four straight round wins, reaching the 11-5 scoreline. Virtus.pro got one back on the board, but that would be the only win for them, as Imperial got right back to work and claimed the following two rounds, winning the map 13-6.
With this win, Imperial starts the Elimination Stage up 1-0.
