Update: Triumph officially announce Not Triumph
North America's worst kept secret was made official today when Triumph announced the "Not Triumph" roster that they used in this past weekend's Mythic Winter Cup as their CS:GO roster for 2021.
As "Not Triumph" the roster finished second in Mythic Winter Cup after beating Eclipse 2-0, RBG 2-1, and losing to High Coast 2-0 in the grand final. Austin "Cooper-" Abadir finished as the highest rated player in the event with a 1.39 rating across seven maps. Triumph are invited to DreamHack Open January 2021, which begins next Wednesday the 27th, but will likely make their official debut with the organization in ESEA Premier Season 36 against an undetermined opponent.
Erik "penny" Penny was noticeably absent from today's announcement. Dust2.us has confirmed with Triumph that he still remains under contract with the organization at this time and that a public announcement about his future is still pending.
Triumph are now:
- Alan "Shakezullah" Hardeman
- Brendan "Bwills" Williams
- Austin "Cooper-" Abadir
- Danny "czxi" Strzelczyk
- Wesley "viz" Harris
- Marcos "tacitus" Castilho (Coach)
- Erik "penny" Penny (Inactive)
ESEA Premier Season 36 officially began last night. Triumph are slated to play in Group B alongside High Coast, Rebirth, Rugratz, RBG, ImPerium, Big Chillin, Secret Club, Third Impact, and Hate's Chess Club.
Update: Following the publication of this article, penny confirmed earlier reports that he would be "exploring options for a move to VALORANT."
