Dignitas fe bounce back with win over Cyberstorm Blue in DreamHack Showdown
DreamHack Showdown Winter 2020 continued yesterday with a lower bracket match between Dignitas fe and Cyberstorm Blue. The former team landed there after a surpising loss to Violent Roses in their opening series, while the latter were forced to forfeit their opener against CLG Red due to scheduling issues.
Dignitas fe started off on the right foot on Dust2, notching five rounds before Cyberstorm Blue were able to answer back with two of their own. The teams continued trading short bursts of rounds, but Dignitas fe ended the half up on top 10-5.
Cyberstorm Blue opened their Terrorist side with a pistol win, but were immediately shutdown by Dignitas fe, who went on to win four more rounds to bring them to map point. Cyberstorm Blue were able to secure one more round, but ultimately succumbed to Kiara "milk" Makua and Dignitas fe.
Train began as an almost exact mirror image of Dust2, with Cyberstorm Blue winning five rounds in a row before Dignitas fe began to fight back. At one point, Somalie "smiLey" Audet's squad held a 9-3 lead, but Dignitas fe took the final three rounds of the half to reach a 9-6 scoreline.
After the side switch, Dignitas fe came roaring back with nine rounds in a row to reach map and series point. Cyberstorm Blue were then able to secure their first round of the half to stave off defeat, but it would also be their last, as Dignitas fe closed out Train 16-10.
DreamHack Showdown Winter 2020 will continue later today with a rematch between Dignitas fe and Violent Roses, with the winner going on to face CLG Red in the grand final.
