ESL and BLAST reveal 2025 schedule

It's going to be a busy, busy year.

Tournament operators ESL and BLAST have publicly revealed the dates for Counter-Strike 2 events in 2025. The packed schedule does not reveal the locations or the type of event the dates have been blocked off for, but fans are already assuming that we will see the return of several special tournaments like Cologne and Katowice.

By the end of the year ESL and BLAST will need to restructure their tournament circuit following Valve's declaration that organizers need to terminate the so-called franchised leagues. This will see an end to ESL's partner invites for Pro League, IEM Dallas, IEM Spring, and IEM Fall events. Also, the current BLAST Premier circuit will have to change as the partner teams will no longer earn direct invites to group play.

ESL announced eight tournaments for 90 event days, and BLAST announced five events for 70 days. The two organizers will have 160 days of competition, while Majors will account for a total of 28 days in the year, making it nearly 190 days of events so far.

Feels like BLAST/ESL run the circuit and then PGL run the Majors.

i heard that 2025 will bring a lot more TOs running events. if that's the case, they really have no choice but to overlap on the calendar. we might go back to the days of teams needing to refuse events to go to another one, which we haven't seen since the solidification of the partner leagues since they were contractually obligated to go to those events
