Counter-Strike 2 breaks all-time player count
With the PGL Major Copenhagen right around the corner, Valve's Counter-Strike 2 has broken another record, seeing an all-time high of 1,525,069 players log on to play the game on March 9th at around 09:10AM — according to SteamDB. The achievement comes after CS2 previously posted its best non-launch month at the end of February, with 1,347,519 players logging in to play the game following the release of the "A Call to Arms" update.
While CS2 still has a number of flaws as it approaches six months since launch, Valve have been indisputably hard at work improving their flagship title. Recent updates have focused on improving in-game performance, fixing bugs, and updating the overall game experience. While concerns are still present about cheating within CS2, it has seemingly had a minimal effect on players deciding to launch the game.
With the first CS2 Major eight days away and the corresponding stickers and Pick'Em Challenge likely to release in short order, it is very likely the player count will continue to rise throughout March.
