BOSS eliminated from the RMR
BOSS's journey at the PGL Copenhagen Major Americas RMR is over, having lost their elimination match against Liquid. The squad surprised everyone when they upset MIBR in their opening match, but back-to-back matches against Complexity and Liquid put insurmountable odds against the orgless squad.
The team were coming into the event with one of the more hopeful storylines in recent history as they were competing in the memory of their fallen teammate, David "cynic" Polster. "Going live against MIBR in a few hours at the NA RMR," BOSS' emergency substitute Josh "pwnalone" Pigue had tweeted out before the first game. "We're going to try our best for NA, ourselves, but most importantly, cynic. Hopefully he's looking down on us as we play against some of the best teams in the world and brings us some luck."
BOSS shocked everyone when not only did they come out with a winning effort against MIBR, but also keeping Complexity on their toes during their match which they only lost due to two improbable clutches from Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli.
In their final match of the RMR, BOSS kept the match incredibly close during Inferno, holding a tie score at the half. However, their T-side was not strong enough to come over the international squad's defense as they lost 13-9. On Ancient, the team were unable to replicate their success against MIBR and Complexity as they were brushed aside 13-4.
For BOSS, the odds were stacked against them, but they proved their strength in each of their matches and will look to continue from this event back in North America by competing in ESL Challenger League.
