reltuC will spend the beginning of 2018 pondering his future

reltuC announces free agency

CLG's defunct Counter-Strike division continues to shrink.

As previously reported on Dust2.us, Stephen "reltuC" Cutler's contract with Counter Logic Gaming only ran through the end of 2017 — which has now been confirmed publicly by the player.

Since the announcement that CLG would be dissolving their male Counter-Strike divisions a month ago, reltuC had been playing with the "Unemployed for Christmas" side featuring former CLG teammates Ethan "nahtE" Arnold, Kenneth "koosta" Suen, as well as Ronnie "ryx" Bylicki and Zack "XotiC" Elshani.

reltuC's announcement, coupled with a report that nahtE will be joining NRG, will further increase speculation as what is to become of the team built around the former CLG players — not to mention the ESL Pro League and Esports Championship Series spots held by the organization.

The last remaining member of the original mouseSpaz squad that was signed by CLG in 2015, reltuC wore their jersey for nearly three years. During that time, the team would participate in five Majors, with their peak coming when they secured a Legends spot on home soil at MLG Columbus.

CLG at certain points seemed poised to break into North America's elite, but after a last place finish at ESL One: Cologne 2016, never attended another Major. In 2017, both their Major campaigns ended with third place finishes at the Americas Minor, with coach Chet "ImAPet" Singh departing for OpTic in between.

Now, entering the unfamiliar territory of free agency, reltuC will look to regain some of the glory of 2016-era CLG.
