M80 cook Rooster out of Katowice
After a tough first day loss against GamerLegion, where the team clearly lacked some firepower, M80 came back and got a comfortable win over Rooster, with Rory "dephh" Jackson taking the spotlight on Inferno but Fritz "slaxz-" Dietrich being the highest-rated player throughout the two maps.
The British coach even got a 4K during the first map where Ethan "reck" Serrano sacrificed himself for the gaffer (as they say in the UK). dephh was one of the main weaknesses during the first day, but today he held his own, creating space and making plays with confidence.
The series opened on Rooster's Inferno but it was M80 who felt at home. Starting on the CT-side, the North American squad opened the squad with a 6-0 lead which would turn into a 10-2 half, with dephh being the highest-rated CT player with a 1.92 rating. It was a quick second half as Rooster was only able to win a single round. 13-3 was the final result in a map where M80 showed good signs.
The second map would be M80's Vertigo, who boast an 18-match win streak, that now turned 19. Rooster won their CT-side pistol round but, once again, M80 would come back strongly with a 9-3 T-side half. The NA team won the second half pistol round and the following one, reaching 11 round wins but Rooster claimed one round that sent M80 to an eco and put the Oceanic side on a four-round win streak reaching an 11-7 scoreline. After that, M80 closed the map 13-7 and the series 2-0.
With this win, M80 will face Rebels tomorrow at 01:30PM in a do or die match, where the winner advances to the IEM Katowice Group Stage and the loser goes home, although the Rebels are already home.
