Complexity falter in BLAST opener
Complexity had a rough morning as they fell 2-0 to Natus Vincere in their opening match of BLAST Premier Spring Groups. The lowlight of the match was Complexity failing to secure their pick of Overpass despite being up 12-9, eventually losing in overtime.
Things went bad to worse as they once again blew a strong first-half 8-4 lead on Anubis as the American team ended up getting swept and falling into the lower bracket at BLAST.
Overpass has historically been a strong map for Complexity, and it was no different for the majority of today. The squad split their T-side evenly with the Europeans as they looked to close it out on their CT-side. Complexity would gather themselves to get a 12-9 lead, but failed to convert the final three rounds as Natus Vincere took the map to overtime. From there, the Europeans were dominant and closed it out 16-13.
Anubis started out strong for Complexity as they won their T-side pistol, but quickly fell behind 2-4. From there, the Americans would win six rounds in a row to take a 8-4 lead heading into the more difficult CT-side. Complexity had difficulty holding the Europeans back who not only brought it all the way back, but steamrolled their way to a 13-8 map win and 2-0 series win.
Complexity will now have to play against Ninjas in Pyjamas in the lower-bracket elimination match.
