Complexity and Liquid netted millions from BLAST Major Paris stickers
In a new report from HLTV and Dust2 Brasil, sources inside of teams have revealed that some teams claimed millions of dollars from the BLAST Major Paris 2023 stickers, making CS:GO's final Major the most lucrative ever.
It's well understood that qualifying for Valve's Major comes with that added boost with the Major stickers. The developer revealed in 2019 that sticker items paid out over $11 million to teams and players. Now, that sum is paltry compared to what HLTV and Dust2 Brasil are reporting from the Paris Major. Across all teams, it's reported that there was a staggering $110 million distributed from team and player stickers. This massive payout is partially attributed to the Paris Major being the sole Major of 2023, meaning the stickers remained on sale for far longer than in the past.
Among those teams earning the most were those in the Contenders Stage, earning nearly $4.25 million with players themselves getting a cut of approximately $250,000 each. Liquid and Complexity were both in the Contenders at the 2023 BLAST.tv Paris Major with FURIA taking the sole Legends spot and earning a reported $3.5 million as a team and $200,000 per player. The teams in Challengers collectively earned a reported $2.6 million and $200,000 per player.
Liquid and Complexity should have both earned approximately $4.25 million as organizations and $250,000 per player, making the Major one of the most lucrative tournaments for the two entities. Both organizations are entering the newest Major cycle with increased vigor as Complexity is coming off some of their highest ranking in recent years while Liquid has a world-class core.
