Liquid, NRG lead way to Americas RMR North American Closed Qualifier

The first qualifier for the 2024 PGL Copenhagen Major Americas RMR Open Qualifier has finished with heavyweights Liquid and NRG leading the way into the closed qualifier where they will meet the likes of Complexity, M80, Nouns, and many more.

Last night also saw two surprises in vagrants and my life be like qualify for the Closed Qualifier stage as they took down both WICKED and Datejust, respectively.

It's a thrilling time for North American Counter-Strike as organizations duke it out with mix teams who can fight their way into the closed qualifier and potentially the RMR. So far, Anthony "CLASIA" Kearney is providing a repeat of his performance at the last RMR cycle as his vagrants team has beaten out several other high-profile names to make it to the closed qualifier. Adding onto that, my life be like, another mix team, has qualified for the next stage of the competition.

LOS found themselves on the unfortunate end of the bracket, needing to play Liquid in the qualification round. The Brazilian squad suffered a brutal 13-6, 13-8 loss as they have to restart their journey in the Americas RMR North America Open Qualifier #2, which starts today. NRG saw themselves qualify after they took down the Chinese-American team of MagicLight in a 13-5, 13-9 victory for the Canadian squad to secure themselves a spot in the next stage.

Towards the end of the night, each of the four teams were involved in best-of-one seeding matches where both Liquid and NRG cruised to victories to meet up in the final. Liquid ultimately took the crown as they dispatched NRG 13-3 in the first meeting between Josh "oSee" Ohm and his former team since the split.

The second open qualifier will begin later tonight where Dust2.us will be hosting another live stream for each round of the competition. For the notable teams below, this is their last chance at not just making it to the next stage of the competition, but in being part of the first CS2 Major at all.
