Liquid sign Grim
Liquid have announced the signing of Michael "Grim" Wince who will be joining the team in place of the recently benched Nick "nitr0" Cannella.
Grim's move to Liquid was first reported on July 29th by Jarek "DeKay" Lewis with a later announcement that day by Liquid confirming that Grim would be playing at DreamHack Open Summer. Three days later, nitr0 was moved to the bench, marking the end of a five-year long tenure with the organization for the in-game leader. During his time with Liquid, nitr0 played an instrumental role in seeing the squad grow from a contender in North America to world number one, at their peak winning eight titles and Intel Grand Slam Season 2 in 2019.
The decision to gamble on Grim comes as the player has carved out a niche as one of North America's most exciting prospects, putting up massive performances against the likes of MIBR, 100 Thieves, and Evil Geniuses in recent months.
As a result of this change, Liquid are now:
- Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski
- Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken
- Keith "NAF" Markovic
- Jake "Stewie2K" Yip
- Michael "Grim" Wince
- Eric "adreN" Hoag (Coach)
Liquid's new lineup will be making their debut on August 8th in DreamHack Open Summer against Ze Pug Godz. Prior to that, Grim will be playing his final series with Triumph on August 7th against oNe as the team look to claim a spot in EPL Season 12.
