Grim continues harvest in July player ranking
For his second month in a row and his third time this year, Triumph player Michael "Grim" Wince has topped the player ranking with a 1.34 rating in July. While a number of top teams were out for the player break, Grim still faced off against a number of stars from tier two teams including Triumph, Chaos, and Ze Pug Godz. This month may also mark the final time we see Grim in Triumph colors as a report by Jarek "DeKay" Lewis has linked the player with a move to Liquid.
Events that were factored into the creation of this ranking include the end of ESEA MDL Season 34 playoffs, the end of cs_summit 6 North America, ESEA Advanced Season 34 playoffs, Mythic Invite League playoffs, WINNERS League Season 4 Invite playoffs, DreamHack Showdown Summer, and Mythic Summer Cups 1 & 2. Only players that took part in ten or more maps were considered due to the low number of matches played this month, additionally ADR is used as a tiebreaker when players' ratings tied.
While Grim faced a lower level of competition when compared to his incredible performance in June, the young player's consistency is still admirable especially in this online era. Over the course of 24 maps, Grim's rating only dipped below 1.00 a single time against, with Grim ending a close game on Mirage with a 0.76 rating. His best performance this month saw Grim dominate Swedish Canadians during Mythic Summer Cup 2, ending the series with a 1.58 rating and 103.8 ADR.
Below Grim sat his teammate AWPer Paytyn "junior" Johnson, who ended the month with a stellar 1.26 rating, continuing his ascent up the player rankings. His best series this month saw him outpace Grim in an inspired performance against Chaos in Mythic Invite League finals, however Triumph were unable to topple their domestic rival in another second place finish for the team.
Speaking of Chaos, Erick "Xeppaa" Bach and Nathan "leaf" Orf claimed third and fourth place with 1.26 and 1.24 ratings, respectively, leading the way for Chaos to notch wins in ESEA MDL Season 34, WINNERS League Season 4 Invite, and Mythic Invite League Season 1.
Third Impact player Wesley "viz" Harris claimed the fifth place spot this month, putting in strong performances throughout ESEA Advanced Season 34 playoffs to help Third Impact win the division and claim a spot in ESEA MDL Season 35. Next up in the sixth and seventh place, Gage "Infinite" Green and Bradley "ANDROID" Fodor returned to CS:GO in great form, mounting 1.21 and 1.19 ratings, respectively, as they helped Ze Pug Godz win the first two Mythic Summer Cups.
In seventh place, Anthony "vanity" Malaspina returned to the player rankings with a 1.19 rating after missing out on the June edition. In ninth place, vanity's former teammate Austin "Cooper-" Abadir joined his Ze Pug Godz teammates in their strong return to form as he ended the month with a 1.17 rating.
Finally, at the bottom of the top ten is Thunder Logic and future Rebirth player Sean "Inseaniac" Morrison, who managed a 1.17 rating in ESEA Advanced Season 34 playoffs.
