Nouns to forfeit final two ECL S46 regular season games
If viewers have been keeping up with the ESL Challenger League Season 46 North America, despite its convoluted schedule, they should have noticed that Nouns forfeited their last night's game against Eros White. Despite no official post regarding the situation was issued by the organization, Dust2.us has been made aware of the circumstances causing the forfeit.
Nouns have made the difficult decision to forfeit their last three series of the group stage due to being in Europe bootcamping. While they could play the remainder of the regular season there with 120ms of ping and at 2 AM, the team decided it would be best to maintain a normal schedule to maximize their productivity during the bootcamp, Carson "nosraC" O'Reilly told Dust2.us. As the team are already locked in for a spot in playoffs, the matches are of minimal consequence for the team while Eros White, ex-Wildcard, and M80 will likely appreciate the walkovers.
With this situation, Nouns will end the regular season with a 10-5 record, losing two matches against Rocket and Badass, which took place while Nouns were already in Europe.
Nouns must be in North America by December 5th if they want to play with no ping or time issues, as this is the date when the playoffs start. The three forfeited losses the team suffered can be crucial for seeding purposes. Instead of being just two series away from the grand final, Nouns could need an extra series if they place between third and sixth place in the group stage. However, as the team are one of the best domestic squads at the moment, they likely feel the tradeoffs are worth it.
The team is bootcamping in preparation for ESL Challenger Jönköping, happening between November 24th and November 26th. In Sweden, the team will meet Monte, Virtus.pro, GamerLegion, Eternal Fire, TYLOO, MIBR, and Looking4Org.
