FaZe completely run over ENCE
Just a few days ago, FaZe was nearly eliminated in just the second series the team played in Sydney. Today, they utterly destroyed the highest-ranked team still in the tournament. A convincing 2-0 win over ENCE, with a 13-0 map win on their opponent's pick is not something that one sees every day.
FaZe now joins Complexity as the only two teams that have had a run through the lower bracket and managed to reach the semifinal. FaZe will face MOUZ for a spot in the grand final.
The series started off in FaZe's Nuke. Despite starting 0-3 down, Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken and co. showed a lot of offensive prowess and turned the scoreboard in their favor, 8-4, at the half. ENCE could not replicate that, only winning a single T-side round, with the map ending 13-5.
Then things got interesting. Anubis is one of ENCE's best maps, and the team was yet to lose on it in CS2. On the other hand, FaZe only had two official records of playing the map. To put it bluntly, FaZe won the T-side pistol, and in the next eleven rounds, 12-0 was the score at the half. An almost perfect CT-side pistol netted them the 13-0 win and the semifinal spot.
Twistzz was the show's star, finishing the series with a 1.79 rating and 103.6 ADR. This is a great sign for the Canadian, as he had been quiet during the group stage.
FaZe will now face MOUZ in the semifinal, tomorrow at 04:30AM.
