Valve teases full CS2 release today
It's getting closer and closer to the rumored Counter-Strike 2 release time after Valve decided to tease the community when they tweeted out "What are you doing next Wednesday?", reminiscent of a tweet they made in 2018 with similar text which followed with the introduction of Danger Zone and making the game free-to-play.
The update was one of the biggest the game saw within its ecosystem, which led to increased popularity among casual players. With Valve deciding to do a similar tease, fans are expecting today to finally be the day that Counter-Strike 2 is fully released to the public. To further support the suspicion, Valve quietly updated the banners on their X, formerly Twitter, account counting down the days to Wednesday.
Yesterday, the header was a black image with white text saying "Dawn of the Final Day", which comes from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Today, the banner was updated to a white image with black text that said "Dawn of a New Day", which is also part of the Majora's Mask game.
With the Valve studios based out of the Seattle metro area, it continues to be the early hours of the morning. Like most of the company's releases involving Counter-Strike, we should expect the game to be released late into the night after the end of the workday.
