Liquid asked Stewie2k to stand-in during ESL Pro League S18

During a live stream, Jake "Stewie2K" Yip revealed that Liquid reached out to him to see if he could stand-in for his old organization during ESL Pro League Season 18. The request came after Liquid determined Robert "Patsi" Isyanov would miss the event due to visa issues.

Stewie2K said he was messaged a few days ago by Liquid's manager Steve "jokasteve" Perino to know if would be interested in flying to the Netherlands on short notice to meet up with the team and then travel to Malta on Monday to play at ESL Pro League Season 18. Stewie2k replied positively despite the tight travel itinerary, however the arrangement never came to fruition likely due to the logistical challenges and overall issues of bringing Stewie2K into the team on such short notice.

Stewie2K and Liquid parted ways in January 2022, putting an end to a very successful period for the player and organization, filled with a lot of trophies. The final chapters between them were not the happiest, but it seems that both Stewie2K and Liquid are on good terms. It has now been revealed that Liquid will be using their coach, Damian "daps" Steele, in place of Patsi, seeing the Canadian return to the server after more than a year.
