EG start off slow
As it was expected by fans and professionals alike, Evil Geniuses struggled to get one over on ENCE despite showing several signs of life throughout the match. ENCE, who have been dominating the professional scene in the post-Paris Major time, were unstoppable today, try as EG did. The best showing for EG was on Nuke, where at one point it looked like they could steal away their opponent's pick.
The match started on Evil Geniuses' pick of Mirage, where the team started off strong by winning the pistol, but failed to further capitalize and ended up losing the half 5-10 on their T-side. With hope that things could change on the defense, the squad quickly rebounded after losing the second pistol, but once again, couldn't hold off one of the most dominant teams in the world and ended up losing 16-9.
It was only on Nuke where Evil Geniuses seemed to spring to life. Despite a poor CT-side, where they would allow ENCE to win nine out of ten rounds, it was their T-side that seemed to spark the entire squad. Rallying back from a 6-9 half, Evil Geniuses took a 10-9 advantage before letting that slip to 14-10. However, EG would not be deterred as they mounted a comeback to tie it at 14-14, just to lose the last two rounds and lose the map 16-14 and the series 2-0.
Evil Geniuses now await to see if they will play either MIBR or Mouz in the losers match.
