Benched EG IGL completes move back to Europe

GamerLegion have announced the additions of Sanzhar "neaLaN" Ishakov and Sebastian "volt" Malos to their squad. Dust2.us reported that the two players had been registered to the team for the upcoming IEM Cologne 2023 tournament.

neaLaN's time in North America was difficult, as Evil Geniuses were never able to establish themselves beyond being a competitive regional squad. Despite entries into ESL Pro League, BLAST, and the 2022 IEM Rio Major, they struggled to be competitive against top tier competition. This past summer, neaLaN was moved to the bench as the organization searched for alternatives.

Evil Geniuses eventually decided on using their EG Black roster in the foreseeable future, putting neaLaN on the outs. Quickly after, he was reported to be linked with GamerLegion with talks heating up in the days following.

neaLaN will debut with GamerLegion in Group A of the main stage of IEM Cologne 2023, skipping the Play-In as a result of GamerLegion's appearance in the grand final of the BLAST.tv Paris Major.
