Complexity versus NIP rematch; what to expect
After a dominating performance from Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski in their opening match versus NIP, it seemed that the American star had rediscovered himself on Complexity. Unfortunately, a 16-1 and 16-6 loss to Vitality as their next match send COL to the lower bracket where they now must face the Ninjas in Pyjamas once again.
hallzerk continues to under deliver
In both matches so far, Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli has unfortunately not found his footing on the AWP. Averaging a 0.85 rating across both series, the Norwegian consistently finds himself on the lower end of the scoreboard, alongside Johnny "JT" Theodosiou. Although this could mean their teammates are just shining too brightly (and that was true of EliGE vs NIP), neither player is consistently stepping up when their fellow players are having a bad map.

hallzerk's best map so far was versus NIP on Nuke, however, that was COL's most dominating map win (1.11 rating)
-
The Norwegian AWPer has the ninth lowest event rating so far across 5 maps.
EliGE must shine once again
After what was an almost miraculous performance from the star in their previous match against NIP, we hoped EliGE would continue that form into the Vitality game - or at least similarly outshine his teammates. Sadly, Vitality's dominance was complete and as a result no one on COL managed to post a positive rating on either map. This doesn't mean that EliGE has fallen off already, but he must display that dominance once again so that COL can shine together.
-
A lacking 0.61 rating is all the start could post against Vitality
-
There was hope on Vertigo, however, with EliGE second on the scoreboard after Ricky "floppy" Kemery
Previous matchups
As already mentioned, the previous time these teams played was just a few days ago. A 2-1 series win for Complexity on Inferno, Nuke, and Overpass sent them to meet their doom versus Vitality. COL were in close contention the whole series, after almost taking Inferno to overtime, but not quite and losing 14-16, COL were able to fix their mistakes and take the next two maps 16-12 and 16-13, respectively.
Likely vetoes
Positively for COL, NIP's usual go-to pick of Mirage happens to be COL's permaban, and the same cannot be said with NIP's permaban of Anubis, which COL will sometimes play. Last time, COL first-picked Inferno, however, they are now on a six-map losing streak (incl. vs NIP) and should probably opt for their usual pick of Overpass instead. NIP's best map remaining is Inferno, and with their win over COL, which they will likely pick. NIP will probably ban Vertigo and COL will likely ban Ancient, leaving Nuke as the decider.
A potential veto could be:
-
NIP ban Anubis
-
Complexity ban Mirage
-
NIP pick Inferno
-
Complexity pick Overpass
-
NIP ban Vertigo
-
Complexity ban Ancient
-
Decider is Nuke
The series is slated to kick off later today at 09:00AM, as the first map of the day.
