drop and saffee have made the transition from one top club to another

Official: MIBR acquire drop and saffee

The former FURIA duo will have high expectations in their new home

Following reports earlier this week by Dust2 Brasil that MIBR were targeting the former FURIA duo, MIBR have announced the additions of Rafael "saffee" Costa and André "drop" Abreu to their lineup. The duo join the storied Brazilian brand as replacements for Henrique "HEN1" Teles and Matheus "Tuurtle" Anhaia, marking the end of a long period of speculation about MIBR's roster after Tuurtle was benched all the way back on May 31st.

The transition of drop and saffee from FURIA to MIBR comes as part of a complete reorientation of the Brazilian scene that has seen a majority of top Brazilian organizations shred their cores after a long drought of international trophies for the nation.

This frenzied transfer season was, in essence, kicked off following IEM Dallas 2023, when drop and saffee were already touted to be out of FURIA to make way for the "Godfather of Brazilian CS", Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo. While many teams are still actively sorting out their rosters, MIBR has seemingly bet on their core from the previous season alongside saffee, who will look to regain his luster after being a star on paiN, and drop, who will have a lot to prove after leaving the nest at FURIA.

MIBR are now:

  • Brazil Raphael "exit" Lacerda

  • Brazil Breno "brnz4n" Poletto

  • Brazil Felipe "insani" Yuji

  • Brazil Rafael "saffee" Costa

  • Brazil André "drop" Abreu

  • Brazil Bruno "BIT" Fukuda Lima (Coach)

  • Brazil Matheus "Tuurtle" Anhaia (Inactive)

  • Brazil Henrique "HEN1" Teles (Inactive)

This new MIBR lineup are set to make their debut at Gamers8 2023 in Saudi Arabia on August 14th.
