oSee: "When you love to play this game it doesn't matter, you just scream"
Liquid continued their impressive form with a dismantling of one of the world's best, NAVI. After posting a 14-1 T side the team closed the match 16-8, taking their place in the 2-0 pool with ease. It is a stark contrast to the Liquid we saw on day one of Challengers, and the NA side now has three chances at qualifying for playoffs.
After the huge win, Liquid's AWPer Josh "oSee" Ohm spoke with Dust2.us' Ryan Friend about the team's reversal of fortunes, the team atmosphere, and Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis' mammoth performance. For the full interview watch the video below.
Alright then Josh very interesting game, you took a lead very early on, it looked like YEKINDAR was just taking control. How were you trying to respond with YEKINDAR taking a pivotal role in the game?
It was pretty easy honestly, I was just holding flashes for him doing my thing supporting him and every time you get two or three entries the game is really easy when everything is going your way. It was not much of a stressful game for me, maybe on CT side they started to crawl back a bit but I knew we had it in the bag after that T side we were pretty dominant.
Your entire evolution this event has been remarkable, you went from not talking in the first few days to being one of the loudest on the team and everyone is responding to it. Do you feel the like the lightning rod for this team, the catalyst for everyone playing well?
I wouldn't put it on me, everyone is playing well. Everyone has found their comfort zone at this tournament. I will say I do think it helps the team a bit when someone has a nice round, when someone has a really nice round and everyone is just like 'nice job' they aren't going to be hyped up or into it. If someone is screaming they are going to be way more happy and into it and I think it helps us a lot with our momentum as well, when we start a game really well it helps us keep going. It helps a lot, hopefully, I don't lose my voice (laughs).
When we talked before the Fluxo game, you did the whole thing where I'm not going to talk I'm going to be focused on the game. You aren't going to hear anything different from me, how have you become accustomed to the change of you becoming loud?
It's not too hard for me honestly because I think before the matches I was just very calm, I was trying to stay calm and collected. I have always had the inner urge to scream when someone has a nice round or something crazy happens. It's not too hard for me, my personality type is a little different but when you are playing a game you really love, when you love to play this game it doesn't matter you just scream. If you have a passion for this game it's easy, you know.
