Liquid aren't very pro-Nouns
With the BLAST Spring Finals being held in Washington, D.C., all the American sides will be extra motivated to fight for a chance to play in front of their home crowd. Liquid's opening opposition were Nouns, who already managed to qualify for one NA-based event this year in IEM Dallas.
Nouns got the match started off on their choice of Inferno, but couldn't find their way into the game until the eighth round. A 7-1 lead would make the game very difficult. Even more difficult, they couldn't seem to stop Liquid's impressive T-side which would close out the first half 12-3.
The second half would look like it was all wrapped up as Liquid got to match point after securing the pistol and ensuing gun rounds, but Nouns made an ill-fated comeback that would get snuffed as they lost their map pick 16-6. '
Liquid decided to make it difficult on themselves and work on Nuke, a map that they have not had a ton of success with to begin the year, but appear to be getting more and more comfortable. On this map, Nouns gave them a run for their money to start it off as a back and forth streak saw Liquid pull away with an 8-7 lead at the half on their T-side.
With the sides switched, Liquid did seem to be much more stable on the defense as they would win every single round en route to a 16-7 map victory.
Liquid look to be back to their old selves as they now head to Saturday with a focus on paiN, the Brazilian team that upset them just recently as ESL Pro League.
