Gamers Without Borders announced, qualifiers open
Last Friday, Gamers8 announced that it would host a CS:GO tournament with a $1 million USD prizepool and 12 teams attending the event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from August 14 through August 20th.
The event currently coincides with the first week of ESL Pro League Season 18, which is scheduled to take place in Malta from August 15-September 24.
CS:GO will finally feature in the event after not featuring in the 2022 edition. At last year's event, the organizers hosted tournaments in Rainbow Six: Siege, Dota 2, Fortnite, and Rocket League.
Gamers Without Borders, part of the Gamers8 Festival, it hosting an open qualifier for North America for its event that is scheduled to being on May 18th, directly coinciding with the BLAST.tv Paris Major. The winner of the open qualifier will automatically go to the Gamers Without Borders Finals, where the winner of that will earn a spot at the Gamers8 Festival.
The ESL FACEIT Group, owned by Saudi Arabia's public investment fund-backed Savvy Games Group, will operate as the production company for the event, according to HLTV.org.
