FURIA extend contracts of entire team by five years
FURIA have extended the contracts of their Brazilian roster, penning a five-year deal with the team. An earlier tweet from the organization revealed that "another org[anization] tried to hire two players" from their lineup, with a follow-up tweet one hour later revealing the re-signing of the roster.
MIBR are the most likely candidate as the organization that approached the FURIA players, with the team previously expressing interest in Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato before bringing on João "felps" Vasconcellos. A recent interview by Mais Esports with MIBR manager Ricardo "dead" Sinigaglia revealed that the team were heavily considering Yuri "yuurih" Santos, with the player moving above KSCERATO if a move had come to fruition.
FURIA recently made headlines with an impressive 3-4th finish at DreamHack Masters Dallas, a result upon which they improved at ECS Season 7 Finals by securing a pair of wins over Astralis and a 2-0 victory over North en route to the grand finals. Although they were unable to prevail over Vitality to take home the trophy, the team's results have impressed in a time where MIBR have dropped off, firmly granting FURIA the title of the best Brazilian team alongside a fifth place world ranking on HLTV.
FURIA will have the chance to continue posting impressive results, with their next outing taking them to ESL One Cologne from July 2-7. The team also recently secured themselves a slot in the grand finals of MDL Season 31, where they will play for a spot in ESL Pro League Season 10, and have also qualified for the StarLadder Major Americas Minor, giving themselves a packed schedule for the upcoming months as they look to maintain and improve upon their current ranking.
