Power outage brings IEM Rio Major to a stop
During the first game of the day between MOUZ and ENCE, there was a power outage at the venue. ESL went to Twitter to clarify what happened:
The outage reportedly happened in the whole local district, having nothing to do with the Major in particular.
The sudden loss of power turned the lights off, as well as the streams and networks. Some lights remained on and the fans continued chanting as they have been in the last few days.
As time went by the power slowly started coming back to the venue, with some backstage lights turning back on. Despite this, the networks remained down, with the players having left their computers.
After 20 minutes of no power, Gaules stream came back online but the ESL stream only returned 30 minutes after the Brazilian's stream.
The game between MOUZ and ENCE came to a stop with ENCE in the lead with a 5-1 score on Nuke, having lost the previous map Ancient 16-5.
