Villainous completes their heist crew for ECL Season 43
Alvin "Alvin" Bui has been tabbed as the fifth in Villainous' roster for ESL Challenger League Season 43. This comes largely as no surprise after this very roster is the one that competed in ESL Challenger League Relegation for Season 42, where Villainous defeated Victorum 2-0 before losing to Mythic and Snakes Den, 2-0 and 2-1, respectively.
This set up a rematch with Victorum in a fifth-place decider with an ECL slot on the line, which Villainous eventually lost 2-1. The side advanced to ECL S43 anyway as a result of the vacant slot created when Brazen disbanded. We imagine that Alvin's recruitment looked something like this.
Alvin played well in the four series with Villainous in ECL S42 Relegation, where he averaged a 1.25 rating across ten maps. His rating was not inflated by a couple of outlier standout performances either, he was very consistent and finished with a rating below 1.00 in just one of the ten maps, Inferno against Mythic.
As previously reported by Dust2.us, Villainous ownership has previously stated that they are trialing an analyst and searching for a coach, neither of which has been formally announced at the time of publication of this article, so it's possible that we will see further moves from the organization prior to ECL S43.
Villainous’ finalized roster is:
-
Matthew "tatm" Munro
-
Cory "shutout" Frymark
-
Jake "zebra" Davis
-
Brody "BeaKie" Kelly
-
Alvin "Alvin" Bui
-
Mark "CooperTrooper" Cooper (Coach)
ESL Challenger League Season 43 starts on October 25th, however, Villainous' first match is set on November 1st versus Nouns at 08:00PM.
