Captain America brings the team to new heights

Liquid leapfrog NAVI

The Americans jump back into third after ranking decay causes the Ukrainian organization to fall in the rankings.

Another Monday, another edition of the HLTV rankings were released today, which was exciting for all NA fans as they found that Liquid has not only restored their third place ranking, but actually beat out perennial top team Natus Vincere.

Liquid have flirted with the third position in recent weeks as strong showings in BLAST, ESL Pro League, and most recently, the Americas RMR, have propelled them to new heights in the region. As North America's uncontested best team, Liquid looks to continue their winning ways as IEM Rio creeps up with only 14 days left to go.

Elsewhere, Complexity have improved to 18th while Evil Geniuses, despite going 3-0 at the RMR, have slipped down to 22nd. Complexity will be watching the Major from the sidelines this time around as they were knocked out in a seeding match after rescuing an almost-blown 2-0 advantage in the beginning of the event.

Evil Geniuses, meanwhile, will be there from the beginning as Jaden "HexT" Postma & co. fell to Liquid in the 3-0 seeding match. With their upcoming presence at the Major, we can surely watch them improve and climb higher. NA fans will also observe that FURIA remains in the Top 10 rankings at number 8, despite looking shaky at the RMR.

Cologne 2022 or 2021? Don't really see how Liquid can realistically be ranked so high even though I love them.

Finding a realistic format to rank CS:GO teams, with how the current structure of CS:GO works, has to be so hard. At least in tennis and golf (2 sports/associations that are somewhat similar to CS) most mid level and top players are all playing at the same event.

We have Blast that has 8 teams events.. barely scratches the surface of the top 30.
