False Reality Blue win DreamHack Dallas BYOC
While DreamHack Masters Dallas rightfully captured most of the CS:GO world's attention this past weekend, there was a group of 23 teams participating in the event's BYOC tournament.
The BYOC, which ran in a double-elimination fashion, was meant to start Friday, but according to Brianna "masq" Becker had not commenced by 11 PM local time.
When things did start moving, masq's Animosity were cast down to the lower bracket by eventual winners False Reality Blue in the third round. False Reality Blue then went on to take a win over ANEW, a newly-signed female team featuring the old Nemesis fe core and Mirna "athxna" Noureldin.
On the other side of the bracket, Big Chillin, whose members have participated at several N3rd Street Gamers events, progressed through the upper bracket until running into Imperium. In the upper bracket final, False Reality Blue took down Imperium, before also securing a victory over a Big Chillin squad that had climbed out of the lower bracket to reach the grand final.
The top six of the DreamHack Dallas 2019 BYOC are as follows:
1. False Reality Blue (Millz, jonesy, SiM, Tazix, insky) - $1,500
2. Big Chillin (dvl, SeaLlama, Windows, highspeed, squidah) - $900
