MIBR bring in HEN1
One day after the departure of Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes’, Made in Brazil have announced Henrique "HEN1" Teles as their new fifth. The AWPer is going back into the servers donning MIBR colors after a quick stint with GODSENT that ended with the organization’s withdrawal from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
HEN1 is a big name in the history of Brazilian CS:GO, having been the 16th best player in the world in 2020, ESL Pro League Season 12 North America MVP, and, let’s not forget, played a crucial role in the 2017 Immortals roster that reached the PGL Major Kraków Finals. His addition to MIBR will likely see a major rejiggering of the team's roles as Breno "brnz4n" Poletto would almost certainly drop the primary AWP role to accommodate HEN1. As brnz4n was a rifler before joining MIBR, only picking up the role to fill a gap left by Adriano "WOOD7" Cerato's exit from the lineup, it shouldn't be too difficult to accommodate the Brazilian star.
The Brazilian is replacing chelo who is rumored to join the Imperial squad replacing Lincoln "fnx" Lau. MIBR and Imperial reportedly agreed to a $200,000 buyout for chelo, whose contract was set to expire at the end of 2022. While this is a large buyout for the Brazilian scene, it is beat out by Fluxo's recent reported acquisition of Sharks star Lucas "Lucaozy" Neves for €325,000. These two acquisitions are part of a broader shuffle in the Brazilian scene as teams look towards the first Brazilian Major in Rio later this year.
With HEN1's addition to the squad, MIBR is now:
-
Raphael "exit" Lacerda
-
Matheus "Tuurtle" Anhaia
-
Jhonatan "JOTA" Willian
-
Breno "brnz4n" Poletto
-
Henrique "HEN1" Teles
-
Bruno "BIT" Lima (Coach)
MIBR's next two events are ESL Challenger League Season 42 on August 16th and ESL Pro League Season 16 on August 31st.
