Case back to full strength with new signing
Case have announced the addition of Leonardo "leo_drk" Oliveira to their starting roster, confirming earlier reports from Dust2 Brasil which claimed that a transfer of the 22-year-old from 00 Nation was imminent.
leo_drk was on the starting roster of the Marcelo "coldzera" David-led lineup for the best part of eight months, averaging a modest 0.98 rating across 92 maps before being sidelined in early May. This change in tack came after their disappointing run in the PGL Antwerp Major Americas RMR where, despite a promising upset victory versus Liquid to kick off the event, the quintet soon fumbled and found themselves quickly bowing out in 12th-14th place.
Case, on the other hand, will be hoping that the signing of leo_drk will help turn a page for the roster after slipping all the way down to 182nd in the rankings, not playing a notable game since May. Before this pause in competition, the Brazilian team failed to find any success, finishing dead last in the first season of the 2022 Esports Tour and the fourth instalment of the Pinnacle Cup, alongside a lackluster 11th-12th place showing at the PGL Antwerp Americas RMR.
Case will be moving forward with the following lineup:
-
Lucas "honda" Cano
-
Rodrigo "RCF" Figueiredo
-
Yan "yepz" Pedretti
-
Lucas "steel" Lopez
-
Leonardo "leo_drk" Oliveira
-
Arthur "f4stzin" Schmitt (Inactive)
Case is expected to be making their debut with this new quintet in the first IEM Rio Major Americas RMR open qualifier, with this Road to Rio tournament set to begin on August 15th.
