yay announces free agency
After sitting on compLexity's bench for around two months, Jacob "yay" Whiteaker has announced his free agency, effective today.
yay was placed on compLexity's bench last year alongside Bradley "ANDROID" Fodor after the team continued to struggle to find their form after stunning observers when they made the quarter-finals at the FACEIT London Major. Dust2.us knows that ANDROID signed a year-long extension with the organization after the conclusion of the event, and will not be entering free agency alongside yay.
After benching the two players, compLexity brought in Ricardo "Rickeh" Mulholland and Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert as their replacements as the North American looked to defend their Legends spot. The team would fail to do so, going 1-3 in the IEM Katowice Major, however they did retain their spot for StarLadder Berlin 2019 after knocking out NRG 2-0.
During his time on the bench, yay had a short-lived tenure with the MDL team MASSIVEimpact. He stepped down from the squad three days after joining, stating he needed to take a break from CS:GO to work on real life issues, however he also mentioned that he would like to return to the game once he was ready.
With yay's contract expired compLexity's roster looks as follows:
- Rory "dephh" Jackson
- Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz
- Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan
- Ricardo "Rickeh" Mulholland
- Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert (Stand-in)
- Bradley "ANDROID" Fodor (Inactive)
