compLexity bench ANDROID
Just two days after announcing the benching of Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker, compLexity have added another player to the bench, this time with Bradley "ANDROID" Fodor being sidelined.
The news comes at the end of a disappointing run of tournaments and qualifiers for compLexity. Their start to the season was strong, with the team surprising many by making it to the Legends stage of the FACEIT Major back in September, but the team were unable to replicate the results throughout the months as they were eliminated in 3-4th at DreamHack Open Atlanta and 5-6th at DreamHack Open Winter.
They also failed to qualify for both ESL Pro League Season 8 and ECS Season 6 Finals, finishing the online leagues in ninth and sixth place, respectively. The final nail in the coffin came with the team's elimination in the semifinals of the StarSeries i-League Season 7 qualifier by the hands of Envy, with the benching of yay being announced just two days later.
A report by Dust2.us cited Ricardo "Rickeh" Mulholland as yay's replacement, with sources informing us that the player has already signed a contract with the organization. It is unknown who will come in to replace ANDROID on the roster, but with the IEM Katowice Major roster lock looming on January 1st, the team has little time to find a replacement.
It is possible that the team is considering the addition of Tarik "tarik" Celik, to whom compLexity reportedly made an offer to shortly after his benching from MIBR was reported. A tweet from compLexity CEO Jason Lake revealed that the organization had indeed been in talks with tarik, but did not "expect him to be joining [them] before the Jan. 1 roster lock."
For now, compLexity's roster looks to be:
- Rory "dephh" Jackson
- Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz
- Shahzeeb "ShahZaM" Khan
- Matt "Warden" Dickens (Manager)
- Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker (Inactive)
- Bradley "ANDROID" Fodor (Inactive)
compLexity are next slated to play in the New Legends stage of the IEM Katowice Major, set to kick off on February 21st.
