X13 to use Jonesy as a stand-in for final ECL S40 match against MIBR
After recently losing Otto "garfield" Netteberg to Gaimin Gladiators, the team has confirmed to Dust2.us that they will be pulling Marshall "Jonesy" Jones out of retirement to stand-in for their final ESL Challenger League Season 40 game. In the off-season, X13 will then "re-evaluate the roster".
garfield's departure marks the second unintended roster change for X13 this season, losing Brennan "Lemonz" Lentz early in the season due to a medical emergency. In his place X13 brought in former Northern Forces player Reece "Wilky" Wilkerson as his replacement.
However, the loss of garfield will be an especially heavy blow to the team as he is their best performer by a wide margin. The only win X13 was able to manage so far in ECL Season 40 was carried by a 1.46 rating from garfield against Eros. The win over Eros was not celebrated for long, as it was followed by four grueling defeats, the last of which was against the then winless BHOP.
Jonesy hasn't played a single match since his retirement from competitive CS:GO in December. He played for X13 for two months during ESEA Advanced Season 39 and in that time averaged a 0.92 rating over 23 maps. He will need to find a better form if X13 is to have any chance in their final ECL match, especially when considering their final game is against the undefeated MIBR.
X13 are now:
-
Matthew "scar" Bruni
-
Max "Makzwell" Sparrey
-
Alec "halo" Sacry
-
Reece "Wilky" Wilkerson
-
Marshall "Jonesy" Jones (Stand-in)
-
Kieran "KayJay" Playfair (Coach)
X13 will play their final ESL Challenger League Season 40 game against MIBR on March 22nd at 08:00PM
