Orgless lose Lucid after NA RMR qualification failure
Damian "daps" Steele's adventurous new project and it's coach, Hunter "Lucid" Tucker, have parted ways after just two months together. The team was initially reported by Dust2.us in the beginning of 2022 as being in talks with Extra Salt, who were in the process of transferring their current squad to Complexity. Lucid previously spent three months with FunPlus Phoenix as an analyst.
Announcing his departure via TwitLonger, Hunter "Lucid" Tucker explained that due to "the real life pressure of needing an education and money from my parents" continuing with Orgless was not viable for his immediate future. The former coach explained that his parents placed a heavy emphasis on education and he had taken a semester off from school to pursue this opportunity with Damien "Daps" Steele's team. With the immediate results not being what was expected, it appears that Lucid is now going to focus on his academic pursuits. Dust2.us reached out to Lucid who explained that ultimately, "the lack of org support" was a driving factor behind his decision to leave.
It is not uncommon for North American Counter-Strike professionals to choose education in favor of CS:GO given the current climate and level of investment within the scene. In late 2020, former Triumph and now T1 VALORANT player Rahul "curry" Nemani announced his departure ahead of his first semester of college. He initially stepped down due to scheduling conflicts that would arise. He later joined T1 VALORANT. Around the same time, former Chaos EC and Singularity member Cameron "cam" Kern announced that he was playing for the University of New Haven's CS:GO team.
During Lucid's time with the squad, they won the ESEA x Fragadelphia Winter Cash Cup 3 and worked themselves to a 2-1 record in ESL Challenger League Season 40. The team most recently made a change in their lineup by bringing on Kenneth "koosta" Suen in place of Gage "Infinite" Green. Prior to that, the project got off on the wrong foot as Will "RUSH" Wierzba was supposed to join before being poached by Evil Geniuses. With the roster instability, lack of organizational support, and now their coach leaving, daps' Orgless project has a lot to overcome.
With Lucid's departure, Orgless are now:
-
Damian "daps" Steele
-
Michael "Swisher" Schmid
-
Marshall "Minus" Sedowicz
-
Brendan "Bwills" Williams
-
Kenneth "koosta" Suen
-
Dylan "SATURN" Finch (Substitute)
Orgless' next match will be against ONET4P on March 15th at Tuesday 08:00PM in ESL Challenger League Season 40. Orgless are currently fourth in Group A with a 2-1 record.
