koosta returns to CS:GO with Orgless
Kenneth "koosta" Suen is the latest player to return from VALORANT to play CS:GO, with the former Gen.G player linking up with Damian "daps" Steele's Orgless lineup. The 25-year-old player has taken Gage "Infinite" Green's spot on the lineup a month after the project went public.
koosta retired from CS:GO at the start of 2021 after being transferred to Gen.G's VALORANT division. During his time with the Korean-American organization, Gen.G briefly peaked at fifth in North America on VLR.gg's team ranking but failed to claim any large titles in the game's top-tier North American events. Gen.G's most notable achievement with koosta was a third place finish during VCT North America Stage 1 Masters, following losses to Pujan "FNS" Mehta's Envy lineup and Corey "corey" Nigra's FaZe squad.
koosta's return to CS:GO is significant for the scene as the player peaked in 2020 on an individual level, posting a 1.05 rating over 131 maps. koosta's increased performance can largely be attributed to his decision to become a rifler after years of failing to live up to expectations as a primary AWPer.
This move also sees koosta reunite with daps, with whom he lifted one of the last LAN trophies before COVID-19 stopped international travel at DreamHack Open Anaheim 2020.
Dust2.us reached out to daps and Orgless' coach, Hunter "Lucid" Tucker, regarding the move. daps told Dust2.us in a short comment that the decision to remove Infinite came down to "stuff he should figure out in real life before playing full time." Lucid echoed this sentiment, stating:
Gage has some health issues that made practicing as much as we wanted difficult. He is going to have it checked out to not have that be an issue anymore but with the Major qualifier coming up in a few weeks it put pressure on us to make a decision with him. With koosta becoming free we felt like it was best to give us more practice time but also give Gage the ability to figure out his health and come back stronger because of it.
As for the opportunity to play with koosta again, daps said glowingly that "koosta was the best player on Gen.G when I played with him so it was a no brainer to get him."
At the time of publication, Infinite has not responded to a request for comment.
