ESEA announce Season 30 qualification cups
ESEA have announced a series of qualification cups for season 30. These tournaments will allow teams to promote themselves to higher divisions without having to go through the full league system. These are being run again after the success of last season's qualification cups.
Three divisions in the league system - Advanced, Main and Intermediate - will have two qualification cups each, all run on separate days with differing amounts of teams qualifying to their respective league. ESEA have stated that each tournament roster must stay the same throughout, so make sure you have stand-ins included.
For Intermediate, their first qualification tournament is scheduled to be played on December 16th starting at 4 PM EST and the second on January 6th at 4 PM EST. Both tournaments will be best-of-one knock-outs until the round-of-sixteen, where it will turn into a best-of-three decider with those top eight teams qualifying for Intermediate.
Main's qualification cups will be run on December 15th and January 5th, both at 4 PM EST. Similiar to the Intermediate qualifier, it will be a best-of-one knockout until the round-of-eight, where the winning four teams will make it to the Main division for season 30.
The qualification tournaments for Advanced are set to be slightly different, as they will both take place over the space of two days. The first will be scheduled over December 13th-14th and the second will occur over January 3rd-4th, with both days in both qualifiers starting at 8 PM EST. Each qualifier will be formatted differently, with the first being best-ones up to the semifinals and the second up until the quarterfinals. Both qualifiers will also promote different teams, with the first sending just one to Advanced, and the second promoting two teams.
Full details on the cups, and links to sign-up, are available on the ESEA website.
