SK clean up The MongolZ, Astralis beat EnVyUs
SK began their campaign on Mirage with a quick four round streak featuring some nice kills by Ricardo "boltz" Prass. SK continued to style on the Mongolian team, racking up nine rounds before The MongolZ answered back with one of their own. Tsog "Tsogoo" Mashbat led his team to string many rounds together, with Fernando "fer" Alvarenga eventually ending the half 10-5 for SK.
The MongolZ stole away the pistol round, but were unable to convert as fer led SK to extend their lead to seven total rounds. Marcelo "coldzera" David and Epitacio "TACO" de Melo pushed their team ever closer to the 16 rounds, and they eventually close out the game 16-6.
SK are now 3-0 in Group A, and will face their last two opponents, Cloud and Astralis tomorrow. The MongolZ are now 0-3, and will play against NiP and Astralis tomorrow as well.
EnVyUs started off their third game today well by wining the first pistol round against Astralis, and followed it up with the standard 3-0 lead. Nicolai "device" Reedtz then showed his prowess with the AWP, as he picked up two big kills and won Astralis the first gun round.
device helped his team to quickly even the scoreline, but the game stayed very close between the Danish and French sides. Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom then put up four big kills to finish off the half 8-7 for EnVyUs.
RpK kicked off the second half with another pistol round victory, but were unable to convert the second round. Just like the first game, each round was extremely close, but Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen picked up a big ace to put Astralis onto 10. Astralis kept up their new momentum as device propelled his team to a significant lead.
Vincent "Happy" Schopenhauer kept his squad in the game, as he helped EnVyUs to two additional rounds, until dupreeh returned and Astralis secured their 14th. The Danes eventually claimed victory as Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander and Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye put EnVyUs down and secured Inferno 16-11.
Astralis have saved theirselves from elimination and sit at a 1-2 record. They will face their last two opponents of Group A, SK and The MongolZ, tomorrow. With this loss, EnVyUs now sit at a 1-2 record as well, and will face NiP and The MongolZ tomorrow to finish out Group A.
