Renegades qualify for ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals
Renegades have become the third team to qualify for a spot at ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals in Odense, joining Ghost and MIBR on the team list for the $600,000 final.
Having won 12 of their 18 matches in the season, Renegades have garned 48 points to sit just below Ghost and MIBR on the leaderboard. Their remaining two matchups will see the Australians face off against NRG and the last place Envy roster, giving them a good chance to add further wins to their tally.
2-0 wins over the league's middle and lower tier teams allowed for Renegades to work their way up the board, and split series with Cloud9 and Liquid gave them room to make additional headway. Despite losing out to Ghost in both matchups, 2 extra points from overtime losses pushed them just over the brink for qualification.
Renegades added Australian Jay "liazz" Tregillgas and New Zealander Sean "Gratisfaction" Kaiwai at the start of the EPL season, opting to retain Norwegian Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad and parting ways with longtime Renegades member Karlo "USTILO" Pivac. Aaron "AZR" Ward also picked up in-game leader duties after Noah "Nifty" Francis' departure to Envy, who have had a considerably worse EPL season.
The team list for ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals now looks as follows:
Astralis | Ghost |
MIBR | Na`Vi |
ORDER | Renegades |
Europe #3 | Europe #4 |
Europe #5 | Europe #6 |
Europe #7 | North America #4 |
North America #5 | North America #6 |

Their final EPL matches will take place on November 13th and 14th, when they will go up against NRG before closing out the season against Envy.
