Envy orders up Pollo as a stand-in
As Envy get ready to take on the third week of play in ESL Pro League Season 8, the team have added Matt "Pollo" Wilson to their ESEA roster in advance.
The move appears to confirm a part of yesterday's report from DBLTAP that stated Envy were looking to Pollo listed as one of the top candidates to replace to bench Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen.
However, Dust2.us has been informed that Pollo is just standing in for the team's remaining EPL matches, with the exception of tomorrow's match against Cloud9. It is unknown who Envy will field against Cloud9, as the team now have only one mid-season roster change remaining.
Pollo was last seen playing for Ghost after the organization signed the core of Torqued back in June of this year. After playing in ESL One Belo Horizonte and the ZOTAC Cup Americas finals under the Ghost banner, he was released by the organization later in July. Pollo remained cooped up until late August, when he announced that he was open to offers from MDL and EPL teams.
Envy's roster is:
- Taylor "Drone" Johnson
- Stephen "reltuC" Cutler
- Josh "jdm64" Marzano
- Noah "Nifty" Francis
- Matt "Pollo" Wilson (Stand-in)
- Zachary "Eley" Stauffer (Coach)
- Taylor "Tailored" Broomall (Analyst)
- Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen (Inactive)
With their new temporary fifth, Envy are set to play in an important week of ESL Pro League, which will see them play against Cloud9, as well as the aforementioned eUnited and Luminosity, in the next three days. The team are looking to avoid being demoted directly to MDL next season, as they are currently last in the EPL standings with a 1-13 record.
