Bravado qualify for DreamHack Open Winter over INTZ

The South Africans defeated three EPL team en route to Jönköping

It was a battle of the South between South African squad Bravado and South America INTZ as Bravado came out victorious over INTZ in a 2-0 (Inferno 16-10, Dust 2 16-5) that now puts them through to DreamHack Winter in Jönköping, Sweden, alongside European qualifier winner x6tence Galaxy.

Bravado was put through the ringer to secure their spot in DreamHack Winter as they were pitted against pro team Luminosity first, beating them 2-1 (Cache 6-16, Inferno 16-7, Overpass 16-9), followed by a matchup against other pro team Rogue (Inferno 16-14, Train 16-8, Mirage 16-11).

Comparably, INTZ had the easier side of the bracket starting with a match against David "DAVEY" Stafford's Spacestation squad who they would go on to defeat 2-1 (Mirage 16-6, Cache 13-16, Dust 2 16-14). The win would lead them into a crippled eUnited using Mitch "mitch" Semago as a stand-in while Kaleb "moose" Jayne competed in WESG.

Having found success on it against Luminosity and barely being edged out on it against Rogue, Bravado decided to try their hand at Inferno for the third time in the qualifier, and taking it for the second time, this time 16-10.

The South Africans managed a respectable first half, taking the lead over the Brazilians 9-6 on their T-side, but it was once the sides switched that Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek decided to turn into beast mode with the AWP. Finding only a single frag from a molotov, the kill feed featured nothing but Sonic's AWP as in the final three rounds he posted two 4K's to put the game away, totaling 31 frags.

Dust 2 would not seem as close for the Brazilians, despite winning both pistol rounds, INTZ could only muster together five rounds against the MDL team, with the only round win in the first half being one of the pistol rounds.

The second map featured mostly a defensive effort as INTZ's lack of terrorist action led to a 14-1 half in favor of Bravado's CT-side, and Vito "kNgV-" Giuseppe and co. would continue that defensive stance with four rounds of their own at the start of the second half. With a huge deficit to climb out of, INTZ would fall flat, with Bravado claiming their victory, and their spot in DreamHack Winter.

The team list for DreamHack Winter will now look as such:
